2010 Raisin River Canoe Race - CANCELLED

A finisher’s medals will be awarded to all participants who finish the race.  The participants must cross the finish line prior to the assigned cut-off time which is 4:00 pm.  If you cross the finish line after the cut-off time, you can still receive the finisher’s medal by either presenting yourself at the banquet hall (St. Mary’s Parish) in Williamstown or by contacting the office of the Raisin Region Conservation Authority (Monday to Friday)

Top finishers are awarded place medals in each category.  Place medals are given as follows:

Class Awards
Pro Class Top three (3)
17’ Open Top five (5)
Men’s Recreation Top ten (10)
Women’s Recreation Top three (3)
Mixed Recreation Top three (3)
Adult / Youth * Top three (3)
* Youth must be 17 years of age or under with an adult of 18 years of age or older
Student Boys ** Top three (3)
Student Girls ** Top three (3)
Student Mixed ** Top three (3)
** Students must be 18 years of age or under and be attending high school
Kayaks Top three (3)
Masters *** Fastest Time
*** Both participants must be of Master’s age; men, 45 yrs or Older, women, 40 yrs or older. Pro Class racers are not eligible. Must also be entered into one of the categories mentioned above

Trophies are awarded to 1st place teams in each category.

The High School Challenge

The Alexander Mackenzie Voyageur Trophy will be awarded to the High School / Intermediate School with the most participants.  All participants (students and teachers) belonging to a high school must notify on their registration form which school they are paddling for.

The High School Challenge is an excellent way to encourage the younger generation to come out, get some exercise and have some fun.

For those of you who cannot attend the banquet and have placed in the top finishers,  (check the standings to see if you finished in the top rankings),  please contact the RRCA  at 613-938-3611 or info@rrca.on.ca to make arrangements to receive your medal.   Medals that are not picked up or delivered, will be recycled for the following year.
