Agricultural Non Point Source Pollution (AgNPS) Model
The development of the Agricultural Non Point Source (AgNPS) Model for use within the St. Lawrence Area of Concern was initiated to assist in monitoring the progress of best management practices, guide restoration activities and to use as an educational and promotional tool when presenting the benefits of stewardship actions. AgNPS allows the user to run a variety of scenarios that predict the water quality implications resulting from changes in various land use parameters. This computer model developed for the Sutherland Creek subwatershed, is being extended for use in the rest of the tributaries of the St. Lawrence River Area of Concern.
